That is awesome. That reminds me of the time I went fishing at a local pond, I was reeling in a small blue gill, or perch I don't remember which, but I almost had it to the shore when a bass, probably saw it struggling, came along and swallowed it whole. Two for the price of one I'd say. Nice pics!!!

Just so u guys know, that Jack Dempsey wasn't meant to be food for the Peacock Bass, It had been living in there for a week and even my big 20" Cichla left it alone. I guess the 16" one decided to give it a shot. It was 6.5" and thick!!!! Too much to swallow. I eventually had to remove the JD and sure enough it was still alive but badly bruised.

liar!

How big was the bass?

WOW.. thats wild!! Awesome pics. That JD looks like it has some really nice colors too.

That is so sweet...I bet he could have taken it down...My LMB has taken down fish 2/3 his size...you could see the tail hanging out the mouth and the snout poking the back of his belly...he ate it!

I'm glad you got out the JD, and I hope it survives. It is a gorgeous JD. My lfs got a 5" JD yesterday from a guy who was giving all his fish away, now they are selling him for $20. Jerks.

That is crazy.

That cichla really had no chance of getting the JD down
