Having a battery operated air pump or three around is never a bad idea. They're pretty cheap from Kensfish or Jehmco.

Also, doing a water change can never hurt.

BTW, my powers been out for 6 days now, luckily I was prepared (for the fish and herps, of course) with a generator.

Battery pumps are a good, piece of mind investment.

Short term, I have just areated the water by scooping water w/a pitcher or bucket and pouring it back in the tank.

check walmart about this time every year they clear out their fishing stuff, I bought 5 battery powered livewell pumps for 5 bucks apiece.

Good heads up for someone like myself who cannot afford a generator and lives in these ice/ storm prone areas
