Canada eh
So I have been watching and waiting for just the right time and rtc. I’m a morph guy so I decided if I could only keep one it would need to be something unique.

the perfect platinum rtc came up. It was a runt that stopped growing at around a foot and I was stoked to get a platinum rtc that could be kept in a smaller tank like a 3-400g.

I showed up to pick it up and the guy couldn’t catch it. So I had to drive home 4 hrs away. I was pretty bummed but slightly relieved. I wasn’t quite ready for it but I would have made it work.

then it sold just before I was actually ready. Lol I shrugged it off and just went about my way. But then when I was at one of my supplier facility I saw this guy and had already made friends on previous visits.

it just seemed to work for the time and now I’m super stoked that I pulled the trigger.

Congrats man ?… looks like a pretty good one… best advice i can give is get it on pellets now while its small… will pay off down the road when its 24”+

Thank you. It is eating pellets. Luckily will take cichlid gold which is 1/3 the cost of carnivore

Exellent news ?… no need for prepared foods IMO… theyll hand feed handfulls of pellets at the surface even at 30” lol… makes it easy… and keeps em full longer. Cost aint too bad for just 1 either…

That red tail catfish doesn't look too far off from an albino red tail shark ? ? ?

So I already had to put this guy in the sump ?

but not for the reason you would typically expect with an rtc. I had to move it because my big ray was trying to eat it. Just decided it was a chew toy and went to town on it.

the rtc stopped eating for a day when the ray was picking on it. But now it has returned to full appetite and is crushing around. Very responsive to food as soon as it hits the water.

thank you RD. RD. and wednesday13 wednesday13

So the kitty is doing really well. Growing as an rtc should. I’m guessing it is pushing 16” at this point and getting a bit of girth.

I have had a few tank mates in with it so far, and no real issues yet. ???? I took my male snow leopard out of there a few weeks back because I realized the cat was growing fairly fast and I don’t want to feed it a rare spicy ray burrito.

there is a big flagtail in with it right now that looks like it might need to go to the other tank soon?
and a ray that is about 15-16” much thicker than the other one.

it is now fairly comfortable eating from my hand and lets me pet it occasionally

The cat loves my daughter. And she is happy to feed it whenever she comes into the fish room. She knows where I keep the massivore and just where the kitty will be. ☺️

Glad to see it's doing well. Speaking from what happened to me today, you are also very lucky to not have to deal with the possibility that it might have to be put down.
