well some snappers can really calm down alot, personaly of the 3 i have kept one youcould pet her head like a puppy,,,she was an exception, the other two are fairly tame wouldnt kiss them though,,,and i would not grab a common snapper by the front part of the shell a common snappers neck is why longer than an alligator snappers,,they can reach up twist and bite your arm very seriously injuring you..if you must handle your snapper the est way is to grab the rear corners of there shell or a grab ahold of the side of there shells ckoser to the rear feet

yeah, it should work but I would be a little worried about the snapper tearing the liner of it, it looks thin. Maybe throw an extra tarp into it to prevent tearing.

kk i mite put 2 to be sure!

the best way to hold them is by grasping the front part of the shell and using your knuckles to push down on the head to keep it retracted. Grabbing it by the sides would be a painful way to discover that they can reach their sides more easily than turning their head 180 degrees straight up. Also, the ast time I thought that a snapping turtle was tame, it ended in a visit to the emergency room and several stitches and 3 shots. I am not saying that it cant be done but I am saying that you should never let your guard down with these animals. they are dangerous and should be handled only when necessary.

You can get them at all sorts of sizes, I would start with kingsnake.com but also check local pet stores and reptile shows. I would not pay more than $25 for a small one to give you a price range.

also, here is a picture of the proper way to hold a snapper:

another good way to hold them is to grasp by the tail and then lift by the plastron to support their weight.

and whts the plastron?

ahh i get it! wld that collapsable tank hold one for life?
