The only time I ever see my RBs fight is usually during the day at very random times. I don't know if piranhas have alpha males or what not but that would explain why they seem to fight for no reason. They just seem to bite at each other and their will be a little chasing but other than that they just chill most of the time. It's rare now that one of them has chunks missing out of its fins but when it does happen I just like to think the challenger should have given up faster.
 
it is territory!!!!!! thats it. piranhas can go MONTHS with out food. unless its a prolonged time with out food they wont resort to canibalism once they are older. many people only feed adult Ps once or twice a week
