After a month of cleaning (with NO results) and messuring for a new 3D background. I have finally set my 110gal back up, with all new plumbing to make filter maintenance easier and more readily moveable.

Tank: 110 Gallon 48Lx20Wx30H
I purchased this tank second hand about two years ago. It was probably 15 years old when I purchased it, and it has seen WAY better days. But being my first and only biggish (a word?) tank I have a soft spot for it, scratches and all. The original owner used it for salt water and after he upgraded just moved it to his garage and used it as a quarintine tank. Needless to say it was only half full and had unbelievable amounts of calcium deposits. Which to date I am still unable to remove. :wall: (And I've used it all, vinegar, lemons, acid)

W/D: 45 Gallon 36Lx12Wx24H
After running numerous HOB and canister filters I decided to go with something more efficent in the long run. I researched W/D's (most from MFK, CHOMPERS is the man btw :headbang2) and decided to try my hand at building one myself. Let’s just say my results varied... although I can now silicon a pretty good free hand bead.

So since its up and cycling I figured I would take a few pictures and share with the people who have influenced me the most, MFK. Thanks guys for all the many posts and for sharing all of your vast knowledge, there is no way I would have ever attempted anything like this on my own.

P.S. She still isn't finished, but I'll add picture's in a few minutes.

These were taken with my cell so the quality is a lil poor.

Anyways, I wanted to be able to break down this set up incase I need to move so it all comes apart. I also wanted to be able to turn the inlet and outlet from the tank to the filter off and run the filter by itself. That way after those bi-weekly maintence and water changes all that floating garbage from the media could be run back through the filter and not into the tank.

Yes that's DUCT tape but its only temporary and is being replaced with fittings and clamps. It was used so i could start the tank cycling. ;)

Doesn't look like an exterior wall... Any worries about the weight where it sits? or is it across several joists? I only ask because I just traded my 75 for a 110 and will be soon setting it up.

The room is actually an add on, the door to the left leads outside the one on the right to the kitchen. The floor is concrete covered in carpet, thankfully i've never had to worry about the foundation.

Sorry to hijack with comments, but, a 110 houldn't cause any problems on an interior wal unless the house is in need of repair. It should be fine. I would be compfortable with any tank 125 and under. (*Note- as long as it is not sitting on one beam)

back to topic....that is a great looking tank. I could use a little more info about it. homemade 110? I love the woodworking around the tank.

This makes me really anxious to get my 110 setup.
