wow! a golden Johanna! never thought I'd see that. Let's name the varient ourselves---how about A "Sunlight Johanna"

 Nice! I think it might be one of the Rio Tapajos johanna, but don't quote me on that.

Jer, this is the same fish that I sent you pics on a few months ago, she was all covered in gold spangling . . . GORGEOUS!

Wow she's bad ass! I keep the dwarf pikes and love the body shape of them all but these big ones...their colors are outstanding. What r ur water parameters? Is she alone with the male?

I was wondering what happened to her. Where are the others eh?

Spread out across the city. They were handed out in a grow out contest, if I'm not mistaken. The female and male I have were returned to the original source, and that's where I got them from.

Wate rparams are ph about 7.5, moderately soft, about 70 ppm tds, temp about 82. She's housed in a 6 foot 125 with a gold aro and a few plecos and a smallish indo tiger. I'm going to have to pull the tiger since she likes to thump on it when she's not banging on the male pike.

When she's thumping on the dat or one of the plecos, she drops the pink belly and puts on a dark mask. I'm trying to get that in pic but she's quick with her colour changes.

Nope. She's fairly moody and flips her colours all the time. She has been intensifying her pink belly for the male lately and that's when her colours really pop.

I'm tryin'! She keeps him in the far corner of the tank which is sorta bhind the 360. I can't get between the two tanks with my camera to take pics so I have to wait for him to venture out towards the middle of the tank. I'm going down there right now to see what I can get. ;) And like Arnie would say....I'll be back...
