thanks for the heads up guys...im looking into a kit anyways becuase i plan on adding alot more plants...but i guess ill pick up some flourish excel for the mean time to save a lil more for a nice kit...i also want to get something that can support up to 180 gallons becuase that the next planted tank next year...and no point in having to buy another one in a couple months...so the swords will completely die??...what about the stems??...are they also supposed to look brown and die off???...becuase they also look a lil brownish...makes me feel better...they were looking pretty bad and i was thinking i just wasted my money....thanks alot for the help guys...what else u think i should put in there to fill it up??...i started off with easy stuff and what not and not too much to be catious...but i want to fill it up a bit more and add another piece of driftwood i have....thanks again for the help guys...

Beware of excel with any smaller leaved frill plants. They often will succumb to Excel, and die off quickly. Test the elodea in a small portion separate from the tank before dosing the tank.
ok thanks wyldfya...do u think i should add anything else??...ferts anything???...i did a dose of excel and a big water change and everything looks alot better...also got rid of most of the algea...i was wonering what do u think is a good cleaner??...i have a pleco in another tank but from what i hear they arent the best cleaners and often mistaked for that...so what should i put in there??...all i have in the tank is a juvi oscar and some goldfish that i was using to cycle the tank...those are going back to the lfs today...so load isnt too bad on the tank...just the oscar and maybe his buddy jack dempsy might go in there for a bit...
