Recomendations for custom enclosure....

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
There are not a lot of reptiles that would benefit from a screen enclosure...

You might be able to pull of a giant gecko or two. But I'd probably steal it because I want them so bad! xD They cost a few hundred dollars, but then again so do panthers. But they live like 30 years instead of like 5 for a cham.

I know, which sucks, but I can probably talk him into replacing most of the screen with plexi (I hope!) to increase his options.

AS far as the Giant Geckos, they're pretty bad *** and I'll definitely suggest them. He got his Panthers from Screameleons so you know he's not too afraid to spend a little cash lol, as long as it's not TOO outrageous.

Screameleons is effin' GODLY among cham breeders. I saw then at MARS a few weeks ago, and they got out their 'secret' Oorana Mena panther just to show me! Most gorgeous lizard I have possibly EVER seen!

Haha, well I know some leachie breeders if he decided to get one. And if he cares about gecko size/color he should be careful, because they can be ANY shade of brown, black, gray, even almost white or yellow. They can range in size from 10-17 inches depending on locale.

Plexi sides would be a good idea.

Yeah man, Screameleons has some CRAZY lizards!! He got his at the MARS show last year, really nice and knowledgeable people too.

Haha, I bet my butt I've seen you at a show somewhere. Are you going to NARBC in Chantilly? Its going to be the expo to end all expos! But dude I misssed the MARS expo that Mark O' Shea came to for a wedding! :irked: Anyway, hope to see you at NARBC if you come. I'll be at MARS next year too. I want to try one of the All Maryland Reptile Shows (the monthly one), even though its small.

Dude I can't wait for the chance to get a cham! But that'll have to be after college, along with any other big/expensive herps.

Lmao the dudes at Screameleons are badass.. These big muscular Asian dudes with tattoos hahaha! I wish the price for Ambilobes would go down to like 200 so I could actually afford one. It's kickin' my ass enough to get the trio of ackies I'm planning on.

Don't think I'll make it to Chantilly, my wife would smother me in my sleep if I came home with another critter(s) lol. I'd rather not go and see all the things I can't have.

Dude its like the Daytona of Virgina! :O

Just dont bring any money lol

If that enclosure is all screen, youre better off with a dry dwelling reptile. Frillies, AUS H20's, Beardeds, Mexican Iguanas, etc.... if you replace the wire mesh with some plexi or wood then you open yourself to alot more possibilities.

Dude some of the spiny tailed iguanas get 4 feet plus. I'll try and find a pic of the giant one I held in Cozumel.

A frilly would be cool, but they like a lot of floor space AND vertical space dont they? 30 x 30 seems small, because they GROW TO 30 inches. Well aussie ones anyway.

Screen cages dont hold heat well do they? Unless you cover it with plexi? Then it would hold humidity and bring all the tropical species back into question right?

Why waste 72 inches of vertical height on a beardie?
