get the 110. the more filtration the better.
500gph on a 100g tank barely cuts it.

i have 400gph on a 40g, and even that may be getting upgraded.

500gph on a 100gallon is plenty.. thats a 5x turnover rate wich turns over all your water in 12 minutes.. it might not work well on a over stocked tank but i have a 600 gph on my 100 (overstocked) and it works great!

I've read some other posts on this forum that say the true water turnover rate is never what they say on the box/website because they get that number with the filter flowing WITHOUT media. With all the media, the true flow rate is about 50 - 75% of what they say. Is that right? If that's true, I'll probably just have to spend more for the AC 110.

So I took everyone's advice and bought another filter. I bought a AC 110 and DAMNNN! it moves ALOT of water. Seems like it's 3x as strong as my eheim 2217. Picked it up at the LFS for just $70(no tax). Thanks again for all the replies.
