Yeah it's loud.. I ended up grabbing a fusion 700 from the lfs and boy is it quiet. I seriously can not hear it at all. It only got 3.5 stars on amazon though because of how quickly it dies.. But so far so good and I'm loving the silence for about 20 bucks
recommend powerhead for sponge filter please
