recommended fresh water turtles

whats a good looking freshwater turtle that doesnt get too big and can live with mbuna cichlids.

try musk turtles, they stay below 5 inches, and are relatively slow.

U could try RES...but they get kinda big...

But don't put them with fish...

Turtles eat fish, man. Your not gonna get a turtle to successfully liev side by side with cichlids IMO... but you can try stinkpots.

Like said, a Musk or Mud Turtle are you best bet but even these active species can go on nipping and killing sprees. I've been lucky that my Stinkpot has no interest in fish at all, but could this change down the road? If you do attempt this, start with a relatively young turtle, feed him well, give him space and they might leave you fish alone.

turtles are poop machines. If you do keep turtles with fish, you need a MONSTER filter to keep the water parameters in check
