and do turtles poop alot?

Yeah buddy do they ever! Best thing to do is over-filtrate the tank. If the aquarium is a 55 gallon you want a filter that is rated for a 75-100 gallon tank. Plus be prepared to do a few water changes weekly!

try razor backed musk turtle they dont get to bid and there mostly aquatic.duno about putting them with cichlids

that pleco is bigger than I thought. Does the convict follow the turtle around, he always seems near by.

Yeah that convict doesn't leave my turtles side. He totally ignores her though. I've seen him climb over her if she's in the way.

I've currently got a small African Mud turtle (Pelusios sp) and an Indo snakeneck (Macrochelodina rugosa) in with my pile of little polys, some small gar, some catfish and a 24" South Am. lungfish. Here's some pics, I'll try to get the snakeneck when she's out and about tomorrow.

And yes the lung is missing half a feeler, but that would be the work of a Royal CK in his previous tank.

Hey I'm glad to hear that setup works for you. How does your turtle react toward the fish? Mine ignores both my pleco and convict. But I know he's aware of them and seems to avoid climbing on the pleco. Probably because the pleco makes a mad dash for cover if you disturb him!

The little Afr mud ignores the fish (for now) but he's only going to be in there until he's large enough to go in one of my other turtle bins. The snakeneck are better with fish, as they are much more of a gulper and less of a biter than most turtles.

make sure you have hiding spots where your turtles cant reach i was thinkign about red ear slider but yeah they do get big
