Looking a pump for my new 300g. It could be submersible or plumed outside the sump. I just need it to be quite because it will be in my room and not the most expensive one on the market. I got a mag drive for my 150g and I constantly hear a buzz in my room. Any suggestions? Thank you in advanced mfk :D

How many GPH are you looking to move? I like Reeflo pumps. They are super quiet, but they move tons of water.

Looking to move about 1800gph that would be 6 turnovers an hour.. I've been looking since i posted and Mag dive 24 looked ok but i don't want it to be loud.. Is the reeflo submersible or external and the more gph the better ;)

Reeflos are great but they are inline and are not cheap. Generally though, you get what you pay for. Quiet ones are good too. I run a pair of 6000's on my 300 and I'm probably turning around 2400 gph total through my sump. I prefer pairs of pumps for redundancy sake..

That sounds like a good plan are the Quite one very "quite"? lol that would be a big plus. And i would like two pumps due the tank having two outer overflows on the back, and i could run one pump to each.. check it out, one on each side 300g.jpg

External, and I *really* think that 6x gph is kinda low on a big tank. I think a dart is a good size for that tank, and split the return into 2. You will be surprised how much a high amount of flow is dispersed in a big tank.

What about what? Someone claiming to have a problem with Quiet Ones? And a lot of people having no issues? I dunno. You get that with anything. Mark me down as someone who had no problems with mine.

the 9000's and 14000's have had issues, but like Clay said, you'll get that with anything. Eheim is supposedly the best canister you can buy, yet tons of folks have issues with the thermofilters (and ironically the Eheim Jager heaters are some of the best on the market) As far as volume goes, they are pretty quiet but anything moving 2400 gph is going to have some sound. The reeflos are pretty quiet if you decide inline. For your tank i'd do at least a dart if not a super dart gold(baldor motor)
