Wow, that is one very large specimen. Is it possible to post a link to the literature that goes with that photo?
 
The original posts fish looks more like a geo brasiliensis to me?

I think you may be correct, Justin. Possibly even a feral hybrid of sorts. The photo is so pixelated I can't tell exactly what he is holding in that photo. A Brasiliensis would make more sense. I guess no further documentation is available?
 
After further n further reading n google knowledge. You guys are spot on. Its a bloody pearl cichlid! (Lame) well actually its still the biggest recored! ahaha! Im impressed with your aquatic knowledge. Well done. My apologies, if i could change or take it down i would.
