herps/reptiles are not my thing, and to be honest with you - I'm supporting them on that regulation.

There are too many people out there that shouldn't be owning any of those reptiles or have any business selling/handling them.
in response to this aye-ayes are not my thing and i think we should ban any interaction with them-(this is not what i actually think) but its the same thing as what you said but with a different animal, now does this sound fair to you?

Green anaconda (Eunectes murinus)
Beni anaconda (Eunectes beniensis)
I love snakes and I fear government regulation over anything...but that is a pretty sensible list. I would rather they just required a permit to keep one rather than outlaw them alltogether. Those snakes should never be in the hands of 99% of the people that buy them.

I think that we have the right to own animals/pets. They present no harm to the environment with good husbandry. That being said I would be more than happy to see harsher laws for bad ownership. People releasing their domestically raised animals into the wild need to be put in jail. People who abandon animals in general should be presented with felony charges. Forget owning and trading them. Crack down and the Flippin fools who give 99 percent of animal keepers a bad name. This legislation treats law abiding citizens as the criminal and does nothing to crack down on the real problem!

If they ban them, there will just be a huge decrease in the economy, and the government will just spend EVEN MORE money ATTEMPTING to enforce the laws. They need to come up with a good permit system (Maybe one that instead makes them a little money........) and leave our hobby alone.

If this goes through, I can wholeheartedly say that I won't really take any of it into my decisions about what to buy.................................

if anyone comes to take any of my beloved pets, they will be slaughtered like the thieves that they are. this might sound unreasonable but what would you do if an armed gang came into your home and started taking your family members?

Know know when you say taking over the Everglades you honestly dont know whats going on down here. The snakes are not a big problem. yeah they eat some natives but when small they also feed many more. This whole thing is just another abuse of power that will hurt this country more than to help it. The reptile industry is to large to have a set back of this magnitude.

no invasize species can be linked to prt owners. snakeheads and other fish are from people farming them. the world is harsh and to release 10 of one animal and hope they survive and mate is a one in a million. on that note a adult oscar in a 20 gallon should constitute animal abuse. f the gov.

Well the title of the thread is correct .

I can see some fighting going on in here :P
