Bummer, did we get our males at the same time?
My green is right around 10'' and will be 3 yrs old this christmas.
How old are yours, and how large?
The only real difference I see between your Red and my Green is the body color. Body shape, pattern, and finnage look identical.

My wild caught one is for sure around 3 years old. The bigger one is probably a few years younger.

Different mood swings show different color intensity.
