I am looking to do a similar setup with my red.
 
ure arowana is extremely beautiful. judging by the orangy red im guessing its a chilli red arow? just a lil tip : REMOVE THE DRIFTWOOD! seriously it looks cool but it could hurt ure arowana's body if it is suddenly scared or jumps. u dont want any barbel/scale damage to ure expensive beaut

Do you seriously think this is a fesiable option?

A dark background will promote contrasting between the plants and background, giving a deeper effect.
