ok guys, i know its a preference thing but i just can't make up my mind! its driving me crazzzzy. i want both! i am planning to start a 4 piece red or xback comm. i know i can't have 2 of each type b/c its just bad aro sense as they will fight too much. sooooo i know an xback will cross and look really gold and shiney when adult, but red, you have a chance that the red isn't as amazing as those singapore guys post them with lighting effects.

sooooo if you were me and had the $$$ for 4 piece of red OR xback. What would you buy and WHY.

post some picks of your red or xback to help me choose, please use white light, no NAN lights as it will just give it a fake look.

U can comm reds and goldies together with no problem, not much different whether they are golds or reds. If u dun have the patient to wait, the gold will be the choice for u. It will require 2 to 3 yrs for a potential reds to turn up very nice red color on all the scales and cheeks... Gold just need a yr to have the gold color out and color will stay. Unlike reds, color will fade if water parameter has problem or sick...

Get a crossback comm. They are easy to bring up. Just need to change water at least 2 times a week and feed them well. Their shine will climb in no time. Reds are harder to bring up and the color takes longer to develop. Better quality Xbacks in ur country should include VIP and Qian Hu's premium high gold series. of course you should check each fish individually.

RED 100%

cross back definetly, much better looking

isn't it simple? Just get some of both and be happy about it!

I would get a set of both, If the tank large enough and there more than 2 than the aggression shouldn't be the problem, so get both it will make the tank nicer because there more too look at than 4 of the same kinda.
