no idea what farm....in aus i suspect keeping aro's is like u.s. their not actually allowed for import.

the lighting of the tank is the same, i suspect it has something to do with the camera settings probably a different iso setting? :) i have no idea on photography. the only pic under different colour would be the first pic...there was alot of tannins in the water to help relax the fish during settling.

ive always been a gold man while i was growing up, this fish actually didnt appeal to me, almost an impulse buy, but seeing it develop its redness over the last 8 months has been a great experience.

i think the problem with buying small reds is that its like a lottery ticket. even though you know its 1st grade red doesnt mean its going to develop red.

its quite a gamble in my opinion as reds also take alot longer to develop.

all in all im very happy with this fish, i could be biased, but my new favourate is defineately RED.

but its all personal preference, in all honesty as long as you the end user is happy that's all that matters isnt it?
