Even if your water is yellow I think you may be the only one of us who got a fish from fry to 6" in 6 months. My 8 week old fry are just now nearing an inch.. You have to be doing something right if they're growing that fast LOL. I bet you have the biggest ones even out of all the ones you shipped too.
when those get to be adults, those are gonna be some HUGE cichlids...snooks get massive and so do trimac lol
I like them vary unique.Congrats hopefuly there not sterile.Why are you power growing them i thought color was more of an age thing not a size thing.Personaly my cichlids that grew fast werent as colorful as the slower growing ones.When you power feed the fish energy is used on growing not coloring up.My suggestion would be to isolate a couple nice looking ones and slow there growth down and even maybe fasting them from time to time.It would be hard to fast the group because of aggression problems.This is just a suggestion dont get affended just i really like these and i want to see them at there very best potential.
thanks for all the comments and input. i am only powerfeeding about 20 of them. i do have alot that i only feed once a day and there around 3-4 inches. so i do have a pretty good assortment of different sizes. i guess only time will tell.
this one lost whatever color he had as soon as i pulled him from the tank and layed him on the tape but this gives you a idea on my largest ones.
heres a few more pics. some are now developing the trimac spot by the top of the head and there getting more red as time goes by. hope ya like.
