What did you feed them prior to their deaths? I'm still pretty new to snooks, but from my experiences they are some of the hardiest cichlids available. Really am a little baffled as well....

They are great cichlids. I've put mine through some pretty rough things, and yet they keep on kicking. Really is odd that they just died like that. Hmmm....
Its possible they were already on the verge of death before you bought them. Normally don't like buying from PetCo/PetSmart or Walmart. The fish's health can be very misleading.

Possibly, but I doubt it. I drove 9hrs with my fish (snooks included) in some rubbermaid tubs, then just netted them and added them to their new tank. No acclimation or anything. The water parameters were slightly different, and the water in the tank was a little warmer. Point is that unless there was a DRAMATIC change in parameters, or the fish were added to COLDER water, there shouldn't of been that much of a problem.
