I have a red bellied pacu thats about 12-14". He has started growing again and my 120 cant keep him much longer. I live in an apartment so even if I built a 500g diy tank I would have no where to put it. I have considered building a pond/tank in my parents basement, but I don't think they would go for that.

Please help, he is my favorite fish, and he has a lovely personality. I hate to see him go, but its time. Eats everything, Currently eats cichlid sticks and grapes/cherry tomatoes.

He looks great and good for you trying to find him a better home. My 2 outgrew my 750g in a couple years. They really are amazing just difficult to care for due to their size. You might want to post on CAFE as well.

I would pay someone if they picked him up at my house. Free money + Free fish, cant get better than that!

This is what you don't see everyday :headbang2

good luck

If you were closer, I would let you throw him in my indoor pond. He would be #5 for me. All from similar situations.

Yeah, I actually didn't buy him. I saved him from an old roommate of mine that had him in a 30 gal, I knew the 30 wouldn't last, this 120 wont either.

I really want to build in indoor pond for him, but id have to find a place that had a basement, and with my girlfriend wanting to go to grad school in cali in a few years, its best to give him up now.
