there's a pacu at st.kilda aquarium in melbourne and omfg! never ever seen a freshwater fish in a tank that big before!! goodluck with ya custom tank...if it gets any where near the size of this pacu, u'll need it!! :)

I have 9 Pacu, the largest about 39” and weighing about 40 pounds. They eat a variety of food including hot dogs, the chicken pork variety, lettuce, beef heart, rats, grapes, birds and fingers sometimes they let go of your hand after a while, if you are lucky, Pacu are quite hardy and do well in most conditions even in poor water. The one thing they must have is an adequate supply of dissolved oxygen in the water. If they start breathing hard and the lower jaw protrudes like a spoon they are in trouble and desperate for air. They keep on growing and reportedly reach 4 feet in length in aquariums. The record books claim Pacu can reach 5 feet in the wild. Although they can endure a small aquarium environment for a long time Pacu really need as much room to swim as possible. I can’t say exactly how much aquarium capacity a Jumbo Pacu needs but a tank at least 3 times the length of the Pacu and the width at least double the fish’s length.

WOW! You are constructing a 1500 gallon aquarium in the wall of your house! Are you building the huge aquarium in place or do you plan to construct the fish tank elsewhere and bring it in through a window or sliding glass door? What kinds of monster fish are you stocking your tank with? Please post some pictures of your jumbo aquarium tank and a description of how you built it.

saw a post about 2 weeks ago this guy had huge outdoor tanks with pacus told how he bilt them it would be worth a look back
