Can you dump like 25-30 goldfish in the tank before you leave on vacation? would that work/help

Maybe that can work but they may eat them all instantly anyone try that before

I've done that with ghost shrimp and roseyreds but do not do it with gold fish they are very bad for most fish to eat. Plus they can go awhile without food but if they are 4 you might take some losses.

If you're gonna toss some feeders in there to keep them occupied for the week you're away DO NOT PUT IN GOLDFISH. In fact, don't buy "feeders" at all. Get some Australian Rainbows at a small size. They are about $1 apiece and they are fast so you're RBP won't eat them all the first day. And at the same time, since they aren't "feeders" they are less likely to be infected with disease that will be passed to your RBP. Put about 6 or 7 in there and they won't be able to pick them off so fast but they still can catch them when the lights go out... it just takes them some effort.
