Red belly pacu good tank mate?

hmmm you know how long till I need to upgrade to the 1k gall? I think I'm gonna buy one that is about 4" - 5" inches

I attained a 6" Red belly in Feb of last year. It is now 19" and growing. It grew 1" a month for the first 11 months and has now slowed to about 1/2" a month. A second one was added at 11" long that also grew 1" a month for 8 months. Its growth is also starting to slow.

You will need a 500 gallon tank in about 1 year, and a 1000 gallon tank in about 2 years.

at the moment got a 55 gallon and plan on getting a 180 or 200 sometime soon. But If I do get a pacu and it needs a 1k most likely I'm gonna get a pond for it.

A red belly will last about 4 months in a 55 gallon tank.

I have them and have a love hate relationship, my first time out I had 8 of them in my 210gal, they ate everything!, I ended up put them in my 1000 gal pond. They did fine until a T-storm with hail came through kill them all in about 20 minutes.

I have two currently, and they are growing about an 1in a month, I'm looking to move up to a bigger tank/pond when they get bigger.

They love crawfish!!!!!!!!!!!!!
