Red Belly....they spawned

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Congrats man! I couldn't get my 7 red bellys to breed in a 135, so jealus now. Good luck :nilly:

I Honestly think that is all it was...and is...mother nature...because it has been the same time of year every time. and the same type of weather...right before we get rain for a few days straight..it has happened that way with every spawn. I just hope that they continue to do it, but I just figured it was luck since It is in a 55...I will try to get some pics, but my camera kinda sucks.

i had a group of 7 and got 3 breeding pairs every week id get another batch of eggs it was awesome but i could never keep the babys alive they would always be doing great for 3 weeks then mistirisly just die it had to be a feeding problem i was growing baby brine shrimp like crazy feeding them up to 3 times a day but the brine shrimp had to be so small it was in near impossible to separate eggs and fresh born brine shrimp after losing every fish in my first 8 batch i gave up u need to do alota small water changes keep the water warm around 80 degrees and keep it constant and keep the it well air rated youlll need a sponge filter to keep the baby's from getting sucked away and i recomend remove the eggs from that tank and alot more will have a chance to live they lay over a 1000 eggs and its not unlikely to have 700 to survive but the baby's will eat each other at a cretin age so the longer you keep them that number goes down wish i had that kinda luck! lol but i really hope it works out better for you and id love to know your method if you get it to work out ! good luck

lol wish i could that was before i even know about this site never thought it was a real big deal eather i did have ten senice they were the size of quaters lost 3 of them bfore they were that big but if you wait about a week or 2 do about a 40 percent water change and youll have another batch its like sprig rain and the fish instctivly will breed again plus alot food is a must to keep them from killing each other and pivicy will make them more comftbole to breed you dont want them in your liveing room im not a exspert just some advice

nice pic....I had the same problem...all of the fry died all of a sudden one day...don't know exactly what happened...but the fish spawned again lastnight! So i am gonna give it a few days and put the eggs in the 20 and try it again...

I attached some pics...the first one is of the eggs they just laid...the rest are from the first spawn
