Thanks on both counts.

Mine spawn after a water change on the slate base of a piece of driftwood. The female changes color first... then the male. They started breeding at about 2-3" and spawn every 2-3 weeks. Bad parents, though. The Gymnogeos and tetras in the tank always seem to get the babies...

Thanks for the tips Matt, to be honest, my fishroom spawning pretty much shut down just before I left for Uruguay in March, I have no idea why and can't figure out how to get it going again. I have kept the same routine for the last nine years! :irked: I have heard that the ceibals are not very good parents, I hope to find out for myself :naughty:

Great looking fish!!!!

Thanks, I actually find that they are the push-overs of the Australoheros family.

Very true. Mine got bullied by a group of A. scitulus when they were together in a 90g. They also play well with other smaller fish, just not so much with each other.....here's an old video of two pairs fighting in a 55g http://www.monsterfishkeepers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=282243

They
I just watched your video and your fish are beauties. While they developed a standoff I noticed that all had perfect fins and no visible nick and pings. I witnessed 2 pairs of 3" F0 ceibals bond out of Ed's group and even though they were small the colors were as impressive as those in the video. I have a new appreciation for these gorgeous fish.
