hello i just picked up 7 red claw crabs to keep in my 90 gallon tank. Its in the tank alone with some fake plants a cave and 2 large bogwoods and just plain sand on the bottom. What kind of setup do these guys need? do they need land? if so.....can i make a large slope for them to get up too for surface air? or can i just lower the water level and make the bogwoods be alittle higher of the water line? Plus i researched online about how big they get but im not sure their size was ryt? So what are their actual lenght they can reach? What foods can i give to them?

I think they do best if they have the option to go out of water. Also make sure it's escape proof, they will climb up heaters and then heater cable and out of your tank or filter intake/outtake pipes. Had to ductape every hole because of those buggers.

oh ok i just now made both of my bogwoods to stand up together and added a floating platform which can be accessed by being on the bogwoods and stuff. I made my water level from having the whole tank filled to the top and now just took out 30% of the whole water out.

oh ok....thats cool got loads of worms without being pesticide at a near by Baitstore and got fresh veggies in the fridge

My fiddler crabs really like brine shrimp, too.

I originally had a few completely submerged in a 55, but they kept climbing up the UGF to the powerheads and would escape. Luckily, they never got further than a foot from the tank before I found them. I have since relocated them into a half underwater half gravel beach tank. They love it there.

cool =) i just fed mines raw shrimp and one time i left a whole shrimp on this land platform i made where they can reach by climbing a branch to connect to the bogwoods and up....and then they all came up the platform 1 at a time and later in like 3 minutes or so..they all came in chewing it
