Pics of my 8" male devil, raised from 1" and was the most dominant of a group of 10. He's finally maturing, the hump is larger than it looks-but it's still just starting to develop.

Also, is it a true labiatus?

when did he turn color? mine is about 5 inches and still not changing.
 
Looks great! Is he really that red, or did you enhance the color with your camera settings?

no way to know, unless you got it from a speciatly importer.

If you got it from a LFS- 97% chance says it's Rd/Midas, as with all here that are posted. (even though nobody beleive my opinion on the matter) every one is going with the big lips- RD junk and such. it is a trait they commonly possess, but it isn't anything that can't be passed down through genetics from midas/RD parents.

because the species are so closely realated, it's impossible to know by looking at the fish.
