I have a red devil, and a convict pair in a 75, today I got a flowerhorn and a blue tilapia at my lfs.... Are blue tilapia hyper-agressive? It seems really active and him and my male convict have sparred a few times, they are all about the same size... 5" except the female convict who is like 2". Are my fish in danger?
Thanks, Jude.

Convict will be safe if there r flower pots and drift wood cuz she'll hide somewhere if she needs to. Think RD will be alright. but u can't keep 'em together for long maximum a month even thats risky.

Your tank is now overstocked. Unless your getting a much larger tank down the line the 75g won't do. By 6-8" they The Talapia(which I am guessing is most liekly a butti), RD, and Flowerhorn will be fighting and taking each other out. I would take them back if your not going to buy a larger tank within the next couple of months or so. Your already pushing it with the RD and cons as a RD ussually owns a 75g solo.

hey man...this is the 3rd thread youve made that had a 2nd post from you saying "NOBODY?"

chill out. you wait 32 minutes and expect an answer? sometimes the right response wont come around for days...and 32 minutes is WAY too short of time to get impatient about it.

also, sometimes basic questions dont get answered because its really annoying when people dont use the search here on MFK or use google (shows laziness, inability to learn on your own, lack of effort, lack of concern, lack of self control at your LFS etc) to help solve their own problems before asking someone else to do it for them.

on a side note, i answered one of your questions and your next question to me would have been easily solved by using google as well.

your tank is overstocked. had you researched your fish/tank size/compatibility on google or MFK, again, you wouldnt have to ask such...easily answered questions.

try it sometime...then you wont have to wait a whole 20-30 minutes for an answer.

^^ I plan on taking the tilapia back, but as it is.... the red devil, and cons get along fairly well, in fact they don't fight at all... and the flowerhorn from what I've seen is fairly peaceful as well.

^^ Useless info... contrary to your belief, I did in fact research the blue tilapia on google to no avail..... I don't think I asked about forum etiquette, but about cichlid compatibility.... hahaha... And to address your "Issues" with my posting, I do believe that this forum is a community where people help others with problems and inexperience, are you part of that or do you enjoy putting others down over a internet connection.

That will change as they grow. Thats how it goes with cichlids. They are peaceful one min, then going at it the next. Might aswell take the FH back too and sae yourself a fish.

Thanks for the info, I'll see how it goes in the morning, I'm definitely taking the tilapia back, I do like the flowerhorn though, I may see how it goes.

Eventually, the switch in that RD's head is gonna go, and anything else in that tank is going to die. Convicts are tough, but not that tough. From everything I've learned of RD's, they're relentless and do not stop until they kill anything in a tank with em. Flowerhorns, I really see them as solo fish. They're beautiful monsters and it's a shame to see them get beat up in fights if they're nice looking fish. I wish I had a 75 gal for my ZZ alone.
