Over the past couple of days my midas and red devil have been acting strange, they have been chasing tankmates and the midas injured my nicaraguan cichlid enough to be placed in the hospital tank, i have a lot of other cichlids in the tank, and i'm worried that they will injure some of my other fish. All of my other fish are on one side of the tank while the red devil and midas swim freely around the tank. Are these signs of breeding? If so what should i do?

Thanks in advance..

Justin

If they are breeding there's really nothing you can do about their aggression now except to remove one or both of them or their tankmates. You could also try a divider.

I'm going to do a water change tommorow to see if the eggs are layed somewheres where i can't see.

the midas is biting the drift wood and rocks, and every once in a while he has these 2 second periods of shaking? :irked:

Good luck with the spawn!!!

Can a Midas be in spawning mode by itself in the tank? And can a 13 inch Midas be paired with a 4 inch sb red devil?
