So it's sprink break and Ill be headed out of town for 8 days. I have two tanks, one with a midas (about 5 in.) and the other with a Red Devil (about 7 in.). However, I do not have a way of transporting them with me while I'm gone, nor do I know anyone who will come feed them. Do you guys think that they would be cool for that week w/o gettin fed?

How about those automatic feeders? Are they any good? I'm going on vaction this summer and was wondering what I'm going to do. My two Os might destroy the tank if thier not fed for a week.

Yea I have two of those. The problem with the ones I got is that they are made for flakes. I put pellets in them bec thats the only thing that they like. The feeders work, but dump so much food in the tank.

also load the tank with rosies make them eat until there sinkin they should be fine...earthworms is a great compactor

7 days with no food will do them well. I bet they are fat anyway!

My fish have a ten day spring break to fast for haha

Fishes are fine without feeding for a week.

Are you suggesting feeding the fishes as much as possible? I wouldn't do that, water parameters might crash from the extra bioload. You wouldn't want it to happen while you're away and not being able to change the water, just my .02$

I would feed them heavy and do 50% water change the day u leave don't stay past the 8 days.

vacation feeders work:naughty: just be sure to change water upon return
