1 week is fine for those guys. I've done it many times with my O's and with no ill side effects. (except that they splash a little more when I feed them for the first time back.)

I would go with a moderate/heavy feeding and a good water change 50% sounds good

do not feed them heavy and do big water change day before!!! that is stupid. on many occasions i have had customers do that and lose loads of fish through it! by changing a large volume of water you are going to possibly change the water chemistry too much and you will not be able to anything about it while your away.

Honestly just do your normal thing, make sure all pumps and filters are ok don't touch the tank or add vacation feeders, they will be fine for loads more thena a week.... 8 days will be nothing to them!! may do them some good!! lol

i agree.. they should last for more than a week without foor.. but just to be sure... feed them alot before you leave home.

they should be fine

i dont think you need an auto feeder or vacation feeder. throw a bunch of feeder guppies in the tank. goldfish and rosys are bad to feed to anything: fish, turtles, snakes, etc.
