Its a toss up my red devil killed my midas, greenterror and bit my pleco fin off he is a terror he's been in every tank in the house he's going to end up in his own tank soon.:screwy: red devils are:screwy:

My devil completly destroyed an Oscar I tried to put in as a tankmate. Wasnt pretty.

my.. Red devil was doing.. fine for the first.. 2 - 3 months.. i thought i was in the clear.. but then it killed off all of his tank mates... which pissed me off lol but w.e stuff happens really depends on your fishes personality

Red devils are really bad ass, Ive got a black shark though and they get along like they are best buddies.

My red devil is a monster, only pushing 3 inches and he still doesn't take sh*t from any of his larger tankmates (9"JD, 7"Severum, 12"Red O) . They are mean fish, so compatibility is up in the air. Good luck nonetheless . . .

My rules to set up an agressive ciclhid community are:
( it usually works out)
1 - big tank
2- big filtration
3- lots of fish. I mean a lot..if you have a 150 gal, i´m talking about 10 or more..
4- if you have a super agressive fish, make sure you have more than 1 in the tank and make sure they dont pair up....3 of the sames especies is good.
- big agressive fish get in the tank later, very young, just big enough to not get eaten by the less agressive wich shoul be reaching maturity...
5- heavy or no decor. (if you choose no decor,go for a very crowded tank)
6- dont raise a fish alone and try to give him a tankmate after a long time.
7-dont buy any adult fish
8- when buying very agressive fish, choose the females.
9- avoid reproduction.

I guess every know all this but sometimes we ignore it...especially when we're at the lfs, dying to take that beatiful male jag home..
