Red Devil Experiences

I’m thinking of adding a red devil to my 210 gallon aquarium, this would be the only cichlid in the tank. I wanted to know some input on how this fish would react with tankmates such as bichirs, black ghost knife, fire eel, and silver dollars. I’ve heard they can be very aggressive against other fish, but if I don’t keep it with any other cichlids would this vary?

All depends on the ones own personality but I would t risk it... probably end up killing alot of the fish.. best bet is buy it small but not too small that itll get eating by the bichirs

Also have a spare tank incase it gets too aggressive... may need to separate at one point and keep alone or with another opposite sex of same kind

Most of the devils I've had have been majority jerks. I wouldn't put it with timid eels and knives.

It’s not even worth dealing with the hassle. Just get something more peaceful like a Oscar
