Red Devil Insides

My red devil recently got bit, and the insides looks funny. Is it suppose to look that way?

Poor fish. Amphs are tough though, as is evidenced by the fact yours is still swimming.

You may want to dose with something like melafix to hopefully prevent any infection from setting in. Regardless, an open wound like that makes the fish quite susceptible to parasites and bacteria.

Thanks for the info. I have melafix. Should I treat for a period of time? Or just one treatment?

I would suggest treating for 3-5 days...until the wound scabs over at least.

That looks live a female and the bite wound went into the ovary. Those look like eggs.
