There is something about wild.

Natural water conditions and loads of live food that just makes them look so good.
 
The hump is a sign of dominance. It is also a sign of how "sexy" the male is to the female. The bigger the hump the more successful the male. The hump is also very common in cichlids. Frontosas have them, Green Terrors, and even angel fish. Females occasionally develop a large one to, but usually nothing compared to the male.
 
I like the handfeeding pics, these are % 100 great monster cichlids!
