Keep that pimp hand strong, yo. It'll be very useful against them.

nothing wrong with hybrids as long as they are sold that way. i really get mad when people try and pass them off as pure bred though....

My Red Devil (male) has bred with my Salvini (female). I went to check the eggs and they look viable. The Red Devil savaged my hand as I moved the plant pot where the eggs are.

If any fry develop, should I cull them?
I would wait and see what they look like:confused:

i think people make too big a deal out of the hybrid thing. i mean, why not grow some out and see what they look like? to just kill all of them or use them all as feeders, you might end up missing out on some sicking looking fish. and in the case of a red devil/salvini cross, two of my favorites, i think you'd end up kicking yourself not to at least give a few of them a shot

:iagree: that's all I'd do with them...grow a couple up to see how they look. the rest would be feeders. that's actually what I'm planning to do with the hybrid fry I have. they are the result of a Honduran Red Point male and Marbled Con female. curious to see how the fry will look, but aside from the few I keep the rest will become feeders. :)
aren't red points just a different locale of convicts? why cull them? marbleds are a captive produced trait of convicts so they are the same species so not an hybrid. salvini & devils are way different species so are hybrids. if I am wrong & red points have been elavated to full species then I apologize.
