yes i am joking about the Red Terror it wouldn't end well for your Red Devil but Salvini's might workAquanero;4498694;4498694 said:Your joking right?
You don't want to crank this up a notch, you realize putting a Festae in a tank already owned by a Devil isn't going to end well. Salvini's are tough fish but will in all liklyhood end up dead as well.

Ive had several and tried to do the community thing with them as well and it never worked in anything I had from 125-265g. To me, they are/were harder to do in a community setting than any of the parachromis family.
Your other fish probably have approx 72 hrs of life left. Put a divider up or remove them/him from the tank or he will most likely finish the rest of them off PRONTO. Hes done with having tankmates it sounds like.

i had a 9" Red Devil my Wild Oscar murdered it lol and if you had a festae get its ass kicked by a red devil it wasn't a festae most likely was a mayan or it was alot smallerVRWC;4499888;4499888 said:Youve either never had a full grown one, still joking or you misunderstand the red devil.
a festae wouldnt last against one either...unless they were both full grown (12+ inches) and only a male and only because he grows bigger. Red Devils are more tenacious, persistent, pissy, loners, violent & territorial than any festae Ive ever had..and Ive had quite a few.
The only fish, in my experience, that is equal to the tenacity of an RD (and all the above adjectives I used to describe it) is a large male dovii.
I had an RD that literally kicked a festae out of the tank at feeding time. When I put the food in, instead of eating, the RD went after the festae so fast and aggressively that the festae bailed straight out of the tank.
It reminded me of a pit bull I used to have. When youd throw a stick, instead of going after the stick, he would whip any other dogs *** that was playing too because he knew, in the end, that he was going to have to fight over it when he got to the stick, so hed go ahead and get the hard work out of the way.
There isnt anything that can be housed (in tanks less than 500+) with an RD once they reach a certain size, usually between 6-8 inches...maybe a little more. EVEN if they were raised together from fry. Sure there are the 1 or 2 on MFK that have successful RD community fish, but well here from them sooner or later in a thread just like this one...
"Red Devil Snapped" everything was fine and then...

ive been keeping CA and SA for a good 10 years now and i haven't once come across this elusive monster Red Devil and you think a Mayan is as aggressive a Festae u had both in a tank and the Festae was smaller and it was beating its assVRWC;4500965;4500965 said:Ive been keeping festae & spawning them long enough to know the difference...and in all honesty, full grown mayans are just as mean as any red devil or festae. Festae & mayans can be kept in communities, red devils cant.
Dont worry though...Once you have kept fish for a while, youll learn that there are always exceptions to the rule.
Also...try and find a thread or threads of murderous festae compared to the amounts of them about murderous red devils. They are few and far between, if there even are any.
