what is the minimum size tank for a singel red devil?

minimum would be id think close to 100g. This is of course depending on foot print.

bare minimum i would say is a standard 75 gallon. But a bigger tank if you can afford it is always better and the fish would be more happy.

a standard 75g is 48x18

a standard 100g is 72x18

+1 as well.....I have "accidently" breed these bad boys years ago. I kept one of the babies for me and he lives solo in a 75g. Might move him to a 125g if optional. But overall, 75g 48inch by 18 foot print should be fine for life.

If your gonna do the foot print of a 75 gallon, why not do yourself and the fish a favor and do a 90 gallon. Its the same foot print as the 75 but taller and more volume. If you don't do a 120 or 125. They do make a 120 in a 48" long like the 75 and 90 but it is wider at 24" wide and 24" tall.

You can have a 40 gallon breeder tank hell have enough space to move but you can probably only have a single fish in the tank.
