RED DEVIL UPDATE+++

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I think Red Devils are tough cichlids but I don't think that they have to be kept alone. I have personally kept a large RD with other large and aggressive cichlids. While there were some ocassional spats, the RD generally got along well with the others. There are other people on this site that have had great success keeping RDs with other cichlids. It all depends on temperment of the individual fish, adequate tank size, and appropriate tankmates.

I have to agree, i keep a red devil in a cichlid community tank with no problems. He's pretty big too with a huge bump.

Thank you guys for responding, I am truly amazed at how fast they grow, Now they dont always fight but just mainly when someone comes up to the glass (like when I took the picture). Even for how aggressive he is, he never looks twice a feeders. Its kind of funny only large fish bother him I have feeder guppies with him plenty of times and they live in their until the Oscar gets him. My Oscar will be going into my newer tank. I have actually purchased a female 6 inch labeled as a "True Midas" and its almost completely pink. I hope to one day breed them. But yes thank you
