As far as telling what it is. There is no way when young to tell most of Amphilophus apart in that regards. All look almost identical till closer to adult form takes shape.
Citrinellus are more bulky, shorter in length.
Labiatus are slimmer, a tad more lengthy than bulky in appearance and if still close to being wild will have enlarged lips.
Saggitae are less bulky and more of a stretched out frame comparatively as it's an open water fish.

I am leaning female. It looks identical, save coloration to the group of three females I got from COTA in that size range 5/7in

One week in and in the same tank as a jag is enough to make any fish timid.
