i also have a fairly nasty male RD who seems to do better with more tank mates, as KABB has stated, maybee try it and see what happens. mine doesnt get along if only with a couple fish, but with many in the tank hes doin much better, good luck either way

very very nice ....I BOW AND SO DOES MY PIGGY .....BEAUTIFUL FISHES...

wellll my devil finally did it.he chased the pleco right out of the tank.I found him on the floor this morning.the very last fish in the 90 with him...now he is really alone.serves him right ...crazy red devil.

your best bet is to just leave him in there alone. once an aggressive cichlid like a red devil reaches maturity, adding new fish to his tank can be hear impossible. I wouldn't even try adding a female because at this point and in that size tank she'll probably also be relentlessly harrassed. I wouldn't add anything else unless you can move him to a larger tank. :)

try a female and a divider with a hole. you may get some babies...so be aware. you can swap out females till he likes one. :)

good luck getting him to like another fish...I had an RD about 7 years ago that would always attack my hand, I hand to fend him off with a net just to clean the tank...
I think the only reason my current fish tolerate each other is because they all were put into the tank at the same time and have grown up together over the past year or so.....by the way, he is awesome looking.....

If you have another tank throw him in there for three days. Switch the decor around and throw in some smaller fish fast/smart fish like cons and tinfoils etc (fish he won't be threatened by). Let them get used to the decor and the good hiding spots. Throw him back in three days and it will seem like a foreign territory to him. I've had great luck using this method when dealing with RD, RTM, Grammodes etc. Try it, you may still be able to have a community tank.
