how big will a red devil get in a 55 gallon. I feed him hikari gold 2 times a day. Can a red devil and green terror mate?

It can get up to 12 inches but you'll have to do regular water changes and it'll take you a bit of time 1+ years from my experience.
they can get 12+ if you look after it and keep up on WC...

As "dog of war" said in the 40 gal oscar thread, it could grow to potential if alone, but there would need to be over filtration, and tons of water changes (50% every other day would be humane to it), or it will could probably end up with hole in the head, and disfigurement...Especially if there are other fish in the tank.
It's possible for them to breed, whether the young would be viable is another story.
But as many others have said, why allow it?

i have never heard of them actually breeding where they spawned and had young...has anybody... A red devil ...and a terror... ??.... i would leave the red devil alone in the tank for good growth etc.. any other fish with them once they are older would be at risk unless in large tank..
