Doesn't look like a red devil to me though, but i'm no expert on those

It's a barred midas. As far as sex, can't tell with those pictures.

it appears to be developing a hump already...to be developing a nuchal hump at that size I'd suspect male.

Need clearer pictiures, but unless you vent it at this stage you can't really tell. Most likely a Red Devil/Midas hybrid as most in the hobby are unless from a reputable source. definently Midas dominant in genes though.

i will try and get better pics but how do you do that when the fish wont stay still lol
i was think midas cos of the markings does this make any difference to s aggression etc compared to a devil

no way to definitively determine if it's midas or RD by appearance alone. besides, either way it's going to be an aggressive fish.

the only fish that he chases now and again is the polleni which is about same size
