cichlid city
is a 7 inch male redevil worth 19.98 because i plan on buying it then adding it to a 40 gallon

yeah that is not bad for a 7 - 8 inch red devil....you could probly get it for less somewher else but thats not a bad price..

So let me get this straight...You asked for advice about a butti you have in a 29 and were told to get at least a 55 and a sugesstion was made for a 75 now you have a devil and an oscar in a 75 that will most likely be dominated by the devil who will kill the oscar and you want another devil?
Why ask for advice if you are going to do whatever you want anyway?

large_cichlids, don't ignore the post.

You had better move those fish to more suitable surrounding or you're bound to have trouble. Keeping them in that arrangement will become cruel treatment very, very soon....

They were selling 12"+ ones at my LFS for $7.99.

Depends on the condition of the fish and the coloration. For a pristine fish that has some nice colors then ya its well worth it. If hes half beat up and has shreded fins and washed out color then no its not. A lot of it also has to do with location and demand. It costs a lot for an LFS to feed a big fish so if there not selling you will get a better deal.

Thanks Burtress...I provided him with info. last week about his Butti in a very matter of fact way...explaing that everyone has made mistakes as a noob about tank size and it was up to him to make the right move and either give the fish a better home or upgrade his tank....You are being advised to not put that fish in that tank...Again if you don't welcome the advice you are getting...don't ask for it.
As a community on this site we turn to each other for advice since our combined experiences create a vast knowledge base....It's people like you who in the end will pollute the good advice going around the site because you'lll throw a RD in a 40g and the next person a month down the road who asks a similar question...you'll be on here saying "ya go ahead I have a RD in a 40 and it's just fine".....
If you can't be responsible for your pets don't get them...maybe you should try some goldfish :grinno:
