mine would also hide, till he got to big to hide then he just took a bit longer and now he behaves like my oscars. really person friendly does not like any othr fish of similar size so far that ive tried. pacu, channel cat, other red devils. now hes in a 220 with a small FH and some cons ...we'll see how that works...he did behave well with my oscars but i baught them all on the same day @ about 1.5" and the lived in a 220g togother for about a year till i got my other tank.
