Hey guys i have one question. He hasnt eaten since i got him! Is he still getting used to the tank? Tried to get a hold of my friend that i got the RD from but havent been able to contact him lately about what he was feeding it....he was moving...Anyways is it normal or not for it to not eat this soon? Comes to the top when i come to the tank and tries to swim through the glass but doesnt eat....ive tried cichlid gold, food sticks, worms, and feeders....any other suggestions?

It would probally be go to see what your freind was feeding him. Larger Cichlids can sometimes take awhile to settle in before they eat but it shouldnt be to long before he gets hungery. Maybe try some shrimp or bloodworms that is what my Red Devil loves. The other fish arent stressing him any?

Whats with the bare tank? You can get most any combination of cichlids to co-exist if you put some caves in the tank.

Lol well its easy to clean!!! They are all getting along right now even with the bare tank. Just didnt want the fish to have their own territories to fight over. Im gonna put in some substrate soon though just cant figure out what kind yet. I want something not too coarse but not too fine either. Like something in between fine sand and gravel. Dont wanna go straight sand cuz it messes up the filter and coarse gravel traps alot of waste. Any suggestions?
