so by the sounds of it a $20 barred at 10" would be a good pick up. would you try it with a 7 1/2" tiger oscar and a 9" albino tiger oscar in a 500 gal. with a 10x5 footprint? the lfs said it is a mean sob and kills everything in the tank with it, only a 75-90 gal tank though. think they would have enough room for it to leave them alone?

easily, buy it before somebody else does. I've bought a lot of fish from bad fish stores that say "this fish is soooo mean you can't keep it with anything" and they always do fine. The big johanna pike I bought the other day had the same label and he hasn't even eaten the feeders I put with him.

heres a new picture of my little walmart devil. Bought him around 6 weeks ago because he was all white and hes still 100% white. Looking better every day too!

kind of weirded out about the pearls on his gill plate but I'm sure they will fade as he gets older, if not they look sweet anyways.

YES YES YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:headbang2:headbang2:nilly::nilly::WHOA:

im so darn happy, thanks for beleiveing in me you guys
you can maximise it and see the hole pic

i do believe that he's a nasty sob cause everytime i come in he comes to the front of the tank and flares up. and my sister likes to exercise him and he attacks the glass when she takes her finger around the corner, and he hits it with a bang. so you think he/she would be alright with a pair of oscars smaller than it in a 10x5? would i need alot of sight breaks? or should the distance be fine and they just each stake there claim?

i am sure he will be aggressive... especially if he is indicating it already..;)

would you try it with the oscars in the pond? and the pacu that will be coming in for the winter? the pacu are 6-7" i love the barred midas but i dont want to chance having it go on a killing spree, but if you midas/rd experts (moderator now congrats liz) think it might be enough of a footprint to keep him in his own area ill give it a shot.
